My wife and I were browsing IG during wedding planning when we saw Jim's photos of another wedding at our selected venue. Viewing those pictures, my wife and I just loved the angles and composition of Jim's photos and knew that Jim would be hard to beat. Something I didn't realize before I got married was how much time you spend with your photographer on your wedding day. I think I probably spend more time with them than I did with my actual wife and groomsmen. Having say that, I was glad that Jim and Ryan were my photographers. They were really cool, funny guys to chat with throughout the wedding and you can tell they were passionate about getting the best photos they can get out of my wife and me. I appreciate they were always want to try out new poses, new angles, and new props so that the pictures stand out. Jim was also a great photographer for our families as he knows Chinese and was able to give out great instructions even to my family members who didn't speak the best English. It was pretty funny too when we weren't quite sure what we were doing during the Chinese tea ceremony and Jim was able to step in and give us some instructions. We got our wedding photos a month after our wedding date and we were not disappointed. Jim's selection of curated photos that he touched up were all amazing and were all worthy to be set as wallpapers on our phones. They were simply more interesting to look than most typical wedding photos we've seen elsewhere. And honestly, even the rest of the photos that weren't touch up or part of the curated batch were amazing to look at.

Jim Lee took our wedding day photos for us. We were worried since he hadn't taken photos at our venue before (Summit House) and some spots for taking photos are hard to find. Jim Lee came to the venue the day before the wedding and scouted out the best spots. The day of the wedding, he handled everything: telling us where to go, how to pose, and was conscious of our timeline The reception had pretty dim yellow lighting - Jim Lee had some extremely bright lights that really made the photographs come out extra beautiful. When we received the photos, we were amazed! There is so much character and style. The photos are absolutely incredible. The day of the wedding was dreary, cloudy, and very grey (it rained too)- and the photos end up with beautiful clouds and colors. Many people told us our photos are edited really well! Many of the photos came out looking like paintings. He isn't just an incredible photographer, but also incredible at photoshop/editing. He captured the special moments - when we were walking between spots, the florists setting up the arch, a perfect shot of the flowers leaving the hands of the flower boy, when a bicyclist photo bombed us - he turned the moment into an incredible photo. Before we met Jim, I always had the impression that taking wedding photos would be a very torturous process, but this trip where Jim took our wedding photos was actually very relaxing and enjoyable. There is no need for some strange, pretentious posture, no need to pose stiff and unsuitable for yourself. We were enjoy our day more like a couple traveling and having fun together, and a photographer happened to record this day. We have purchased a 6-hour shooting plan and went to three scenic spots in San Francisco: San Francisco Botanical Garden, City hall, and the third originally planned spot is Golden Gate Bridge, but because of the fog, we gave up the plan and went to the other side of the beach to shoot. This was an amazing experience. With Jim's guidance, we took some super favorite photos at the seaside, as if we were having a casual date. I saw Jim's work at a glance in the many photos - all the joyful and funny expressions were captured with precision, and the composition was full of movement, as if the person in the photo was about to start dancing and laughing in the next second. Without thinking much, I messaged Jim right away, and was lucky enough to have him as our wedding photographer in the end. Before shooting the engagement photos, Jim asked us if we have specific locations would like to take pictures and give us advice on outfit matching (color & style). The main reason why we chose Jim Lee is because after we browsed around the portfolio from many photographers, we feel that the photos from Jim Lee are more natural compared with others and have his own style with each set of them telling a small story. We booked an eight hour session with him for our wedding day, and we are very satisfied with the overall process and final photo set from him. The communication with Jim Lee had been very smooth and effective. Before the wedding day, he had several calls with us to check with us what kind of style we want the photos to be, and based on our needs, he gave us some recommendations about the actual places for photo shooting, the types of clothing which can best fit the scene, and the estimated time we might spend at each scene, etc. Another fact that made us surprised is that after the wedding days, it only took a few weeks that we received the photos from him, which is ahead of the estimated schedule. We hired Jim for our Covid-friendly microwedding. I do some travel and portrait photography of my own so to-say-the-least I'm quite particular on the kind of photographer I wanted. I believe that anyone can pick up a professional camera and learn editing but I think it takes a certain visual eye to frame and shoot in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. Jim is artistic and creative. His photos were candid (not stiff and "posy") and really captured the essence and emotions of certain moments, a few of which I hardly recalled until I saw the photos. Jim's style of shooting is natural and relaxed, but at the same time he can also direct you according to his "vision". Prior to our special day, Jim was prompt with email communications. On the day of, Jim and his assistant Siliang were friendly and made us feel relaxed and at ease. We booked Jim for our engagement and wedding for fall 2020. Due to covid, our wedding plans for 2020 were pretty much out the window. Jim was super understanding when we had to reschedule our engagement shoot several times due to the pandemic. After months of delay, we were finally able to take our long awaited engagement pictures that we are now calling elopement pictures. My husband and I were super nervous about the shoot for several reasons. We've never had a photo shoot before so we were really worried about us looking natural and just being able to have nice photos. We were also nervous about taking pictures outdoors in a public area. Rest assured, Jim made us super comfortable and even had his own tricks up his sleeve that made our pictures turn out beautiful! He was prepared and carried extra hand sanitizers and masks. He had his mask on the whole time and we put ours on when we were around others. At the end of the shoot, Jim gave us an ETA of the turn around time. We were in no rush as our wedding has been postponed to over a year from our original date. However to our surprise, he had our pictures ready in a week and even provided the retouched pictures within a week as well. This was all done ahead of the time he had provided and a lot earlier than we were expecting. We can't wait to work with Jim again on our wedding reception day with our family and friends. We had our wedding on 7/6/19 and couldn’t been any happier for picking Jim as our photographer. I spent months looking for a photographer as I just couldn’t find the right one. My coworkers at work had hired Jim for their engagement photos, and I fell in love with his work! The touch of journalism that captures each moment realistically with a dreamy feels, is exactly what I was looking for on my wedding day! Jim is the best photographer we have ever met! He is particularly specialized in wedding /pre-wedding photo shoot. What we love most of is his skills in doing portraits, capturing those trivial moments and emotions of us interacting which can present the unique chemistry between us in the pictures. Not every photographers pay such attention to details as Jim. The professionalism starts in the way how he tried to understand our stories, our needs and our preferred style. We both loved the nature and he brought us to many pretty places including the forrest, national park, lake side, farmland and the vineyard. I remember we started early in the morning and ended in the late evening. We really appreciate his patience and enthusiasm. Regardless of the cold weather and long shooting hours (and the hunger as we didn't had enough food on the road ) he made sure we can have all the sceneries from the morning clear sky to the stunning sunset by down. The dinner after that night was so rewarding and fulfilling as we all know we have had a lot of great photos despite the long day! We even did some indoor casual shootings which are so funny and definitely a bonus to our wedding album! Jim is so talented, so friendly, so patient and so professional as a photographer! At my first introduction to Jim's art work, I was actually a little hesitant - I was not so confident at myself and my husband for taking such candid photos. We are not great at posing nor understand anything about angles, but I have to say, Jim made everything go so effortlessly! We scheduled with Jim in March for our pre-wedding photos in June. He gave advices and recommendations about location, outfit and flowers. He also tried to get to know our stories and our hobbies so we can arrange for settings to best tell our story. Unfortunately we landed on a day with clouds and thunderstorm in the forecast. I was really worried until Jim said "we can get even more saturation with photos during this weather". During the day of the shooting, everything went so nicely, everyone was laughing and joking despite the gloomy weather, and we took pictures until everyone felt satisfied that we got something great before we called it a finish (although there is a time limit, we did not feel rushed at all). Jim Lee and his team are true professionals. I was referred to him through my florist Shus Flowers. I immediately loved the feel of his work that I saw on his website. Lots of creativity and fun! Our scheduling worked out and he was able to do my wedding date. Jim recommending my makeup artist Coco whom he works with often. I showed Jim who I wanted to use for makeup but said Coco might be a better fit for a more soft, natural wedding glow. The original makeup artist I had in mind was more for high fashion so might come off more harsh. So Jim and his team really consider all the details. So less than 6 weeks after my wedding our pictures were ready. Originally, I was given a slightly longer lead time, but it's always better to be pleasantly surprised. My husband and I and all our family and friends love how the pictures turned out. It was really important that the pictures captured the emotions of everyone there. Jim and his team did exactly that perfectly. Also, I'm not the skinniest bride but I feel like I look beautiful in the pictures. :) My brother is getting married 2 months after my wedding, so now we are literally a few weeks out from my brother's wedding. My future sister in law loved our pictures by Jim so much she booked her wedding photos with Jim and cancelled her original photographer -- basically last minute. Jim thanked me for the referral but I just said his work speaks for itself.
