frequently asked
QUESTIONS
How much do you charge for overtime?
We do need to charge $600 for each additional hour beyond the contracted schedule for each photographer.
Do you charge a travel fee? For what distance? What does that cover?
Travel & Accommodation Policy
No travel fees for photoshoots within 50 miles of San Francisco.
Early morning shoots (before 8:30 AM) require hotel accommodation near the first location for the night before.
Destination weddings: The shooting fee remains the same, but all travel expenses must be covered, including:
2-3 nights of hotel accommodation
Round-trip airfare
Round-trip airport transportation or rental car fees
Do you provide high resolution images for all the photos taken at the event? and Raw files?
I provide high-resolution .JPG files but do not offer RAW files. While I shoot in RAW for the highest quality, all delivered images are professionally edited in JPG format.
If you’d like additional edits, I offer:
Color adjustment: $15 per photo
Retouching: $60 per photo
Bundle discount: Available when purchasing 10 or more
To select extra photos for editing, you can browse the web-size preview images in your online gallery. Once payment is received, the turnaround time for additional edits is approximately two weeks.
Are you able to take specific pictures requested, such as: 1st look, wedding site, cake, etc.?
Yes! I recommend preparing a family and bridal party list and sending it to me along with your wedding schedule.
If you have any surprise plans—such as a first look, cake cutting, or any special moments—please let me know when we go over the details of your timeline so I can be fully prepared to capture them.
What is your refund or cancellation policy? (In case of unforeseen COVID issues)
The deposit is non-refundable. However, if unforeseen circumstances arise (such as COVID-19), you may reschedule to a mutually available date at no extra charge. If the new date is uncertain, your deposit will be held as credit for up to one year.
For other rescheduling reasons:
You are allowed one free reschedule if you notify me at least three months before the scheduled shoot.
A $300 rescheduling fee applies if the request is made within three months of the shoot.
A $600 rescheduling fee applies if the request is made less than 10 days before the scheduled date.
For engagement/pre-wedding sessions, I will reserve the day after the shoot or the earliest available date as a backup in case of weather-related issues such as rain or storms.
What happens if you get sick on that day and are unable to make it?
Barring extraordinary circumstances or unforeseen disasters, I will be present for your wedding.
If you book two photographers, the second photographer will have a style consistent with mine and serve as a backup.
If you book only one photographer, in the rare event of an emergency preventing my attendance, I will make every effort to secure a qualified replacement through my professional network.
In the event of an extreme circumstance that renders me (Jim Lee) personally unable to perform the photography, the Client may choose to nullify this contract, and any deposit or balance paid will be fully refunded.
Will we have the rights to the images?
Clients have full rights for personal use, including making prints, creating albums, and sharing photos on social media. However, copyrights remain with Jim Lee Vision, meaning the images cannot be used for commercial purposes, re-edited, or modified before posting on social media.
If you work in the photography or art industry, proper credit to Jim Lee Vision is required when sharing the images online.
Would the 6 hours or 8 hours photoshoot be continuous, or could it be split into 2 photoshoots?
Yes, the engagement/pre-wedding package is a continuous session. In most cases, it takes place in a single city and is completed within one day, avoiding the need for additional makeup sessions and extra costs.
However, for 8-hour photoshoots, there is flexibility if you plan something special, such as a road trip or hiking adventure. In such cases, any additional round-trip travel expenses or overnight accommodations would need to be covered.
If, after reviewing your plans, I find that splitting the 8-hour session into two days would be more practical and beneficial, I’ll be happy to accommodate that.
What equipment do you use? Do you have back up equipment?
I use Canon Eos R5 Lenses: EF 24mm f1.4 L, 35mm f1.4 L II, 50mm f1.2 L, RF 85mm f1.2, RF 70-200mm F2.8, four flashlights: Canon 600ex-rt II, lots of memory cards for dual saving images
